I bring to my practice of Clinical Psychology many years of experience in providing a full range of psychological services in both public [VA] and independent practice settings. I have worked with patients both in inpatient psychiatric settings and as outpatients. I now focus exclusively on treating outpatients who can function in the community. Some people come to me with a fairly lengthy history of treatment for anxiety and depression and other problems using traditional "talk" therapies and various psychotropic medications, without significant benefits. They seek hypnosis as a potentially different and better treatment approach. For people in that situation and for that matter anyone seeking treatment for emotional problems, I believe that hypnosis can be of significant help to you.

Hypnosis is not something done to you that "erases" your problems or changes your behavior by "putting you in trance" and automatically suggesting away your problems. However, .once you come to understand the true nature of hypnosis you will have access to a valuable tool My skill comes in helping you discover and utilize your hypnotic capabilities to enhance your ability to cope with a variety of emotional problems, to feel better and function more effectively.. Some problems can be resolved fairly rapidly. Others require hard work and persistence on my part as well as yours... All treatment requires effective collaboration with my patients which is my major goal. 

I work with anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder and phobias among other problems. I also work with couples and some families using Relationship Enhancement methods developed by Bernard Guerney, Ph.D.
